The palace
The palace
In 1877 baron Dragan Vranyczany-Dobrinović purchased for 32.000 forints a parcel on the Zrinski Square 19, where the house of Pavao Hatz once stood. He paid additional 124.600 forints for the building of the palace, constructed by Ferdinand Kondrat.
The exceptional quality of construction led some authors to question his authorship, and they tried to ascribe it to other, more famous architects. It was argued that Otto von Hofer was the head architect, and that he renounced the authorship due to some financial issues. The palace was built in a year and it was finished in September of 1897.
