Brick
Considering the modular size of Roman foot (ca. 29 cm) the brock no. 281 is a later sesquipedalis. The inscription states the number of bricks made on July 1st (Kalendae Iuliae, erroneously inflected as Kal(endae) Iulis) by four named workers (Severus, Fortis, Candidus i Felicio). Each has made 220 bricks, 880 in total.
On a sesquipedal brick (no. 282) an inscription states that on the 3rd day before the Calends of August ((III [ante] Kal(endas) Augustas, July 30th) Severus and Candidus have made 380 bricks, as did Artemas and Eulyme. Although the total is the same, the two pairs of workers were noted separately because they did not work in the same place.
