Strainer
Strainer
The long strainer handle is not ornamented, except for some flat knobs in the centre. The holes are arranged in a linear pattern that also furnishes an ornamental effect. The holes at the bottom form a rosette-like motif. The strainers of this type, typical for 2nd and 3rd c., were part of a drinking set, and they were used to strain wine spiced with different plant ingredients.
