Tombstone
of Valens and Melania

Toward the end of the year 1988, in the course of the work done on the new water-supply line in the village Donji Čehi, the excavator machine dug out and brought to light this big stone monument.

It is a tombstone stele of the slaves Valens, his wife Melania and their children, the daughter Valentina and son Donicus, dated to the 2nd century A.D. Beside its size and quality production, this monument is one of the rare tombstones raised to slaves.
