Zagreb mummy
Zagreb mummy
The Zagreb mummy, though one of the four exhibited in the museum, is known under this name on account of the Zagreb Linen book. This Egyptian mummy arrived in the National Museum in Zagreb in the far away year 1862, the present-day Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, together with its bands and the funerary goods. It is the mummy of a woman who, though she lived in Egypt, could be of Etruscan origin.
She died at the age between 30 and 40 years and is dated as belonging to the time from the 3rd to the 4th century B.C. The Egyptian procedure of mummification can be identified.
