Bezdanjača, Vrhovine
Bezdanjača, Vrhovine
In the great necropolis, in the cave Bezdanjača near Vrhovine burials were performed here for about 200 years (from the end of the 14th to the 12th century B.C.). The bodies of the deceased would be laid down on the ground of the cave, and by the head there would be put pottery dishes with food and drink.
Along one of the skeletons a vessel was found with two wooden spoons, which indicates the belief about the consumption of food by the deceased. These spoons are the only preserved specimens of cutlery on the area of Lika in the course of the whole of the prehistoric period.
