Selection of Sv. Petar Ludbreski
The settlement from the Early Iron Age discovered in S. Petar Ludbreški was raised on an elevation with houses made from wood whose walls were coated with clay both on the inside and outside. Round the fireplace fragments were found of pottery dishes and stone grindstones.
They used to throw bones of the animals they were feeding on into dug out holes for refuse matter near the house as well as broken dishes and smashed tools. Within the settlement some holes having cult characteristics were found where adult persons were buried, covered by earthenware dishes; in some of them there was a movable stove for preparing food, supports for the spit or grindstone for crumbling corn.
