Askoi and cups from Dalj
Askoi and cups from Dalj
A pair of askoi with handles in the shape of stylized young bulls together with a pair of cups represented a set for drinking on the table at the feast of a notable in the 7th century B.C. [An askos is an ellipsoidal oil or wine jar]. They were laid into the tomb retaining the same symbolic significance that they used to have during the lifetime of the member of the ruling stratum.
